So, while you are in the fitting room, staring at yourself in your
potentially new outfit from the clothing store, you will know to
add the alteration charge to the purchase price in your mind and
have the confidence that it will look fabulous on you, as soon as
you get it back from your trusted seamstress.
Generally speaking, fit the widest part of your body. Most
other parts of the garment can be taken-in. We cannot letout
without seam allowance and after it's let-out a press
line may be impossible to remove. So it's always better to
get the next size larger so that we can take it in. The simplest
alteration may go up in price when rows and rows of
top-stitching that need removing before the alteration and
replacing after the alteration. When in doubt, bring it to us
with the tags still hanging and receipt in hand. When we see
it on you, we will give you the total price for the alteration. If its
not worth it, you can return it to the store/catalog company. This
concept can be applied to everything in your closet. The cost of
clothing goes down with each wearing. You will wear them if
they look right because they fit right.
